Technical Business Analyst / Documentation Analyst

Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Technical Business Analyst / Documentation Analyst to support a fast-paced enterprise transformation engagement. This role will work closely with engagement leadership, consultants, subject matter experts, and client stakeholders to synthesize information from multiple sources and rapidly turn it into structured, high-quality work products.

This is not a traditional project management role. The primary focus is analysis, synthesis, traceability, and documentation. The successful candidate should be able to take direction and raw inputs from the team, understand the intent behind the work, identify gaps or inconsistencies, and independently develop materials that are approximately 75 80% client-ready before review and refinement by engagement leadership.

The environment has a short delivery runway and a high volume of deliverables, so the ability to ramp quickly and produce quality work with limited hand-holding is critical.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and synthesize information from stakeholder discussions, SME input, existing documentation, assessments, field observations, and other project artifacts.
  • Analyze information to identify themes, gaps, inconsistencies, dependencies, impacts, and areas requiring additional clarification.
  • Translate raw or unstructured information into logical, organized, and consumable work products.
  • Develop and refine client-facing deliverables, including assessments, scorecards, findings, recommendations, process documentation, presentations, trackers, and supporting materials.
  • Trace findings and recommendations back to supporting evidence and current-state information.
  • Help organize stakeholder inputs and supporting evidence against established project milestones, frameworks, and deliverables.
  • Understand the purpose and intended audience of each deliverable and tailor the level of detail and language appropriately.
  • Convert detailed project information into concise, executive-facing content when required.
  • Review and refine materials for accuracy, consistency, completeness, clarity, and overall presentation quality.
  • Work within established engagement frameworks, timelines, templates, and delivery expectations rather than creating a separate project management structure.
  • Maintain awareness of activities across the engagement to understand how different inputs and workstreams affect assigned deliverables.
  • Proactively identify missing information or gaps and clearly communicate what is needed to complete the work product.
  • Work iteratively with engagement leadership and SMEs to incorporate feedback and rapidly move deliverables to client-ready status.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Analyst, Documentation Analyst, Consultant, or similar role.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to synthesize large amounts of information from multiple sources.
  • Exceptional written communication and documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take incomplete or loosely structured inputs and independently develop polished work products.
  • Experience developing client-facing or executive-facing presentations and documentation.
  • Strong PowerPoint, Word, and Excel skills.
  • Experience gathering and documenting requirements, findings, current-state information, process information, or supporting evidence.
  • Ability to distinguish between observations, impacts, findings, risks, recommendations, and supporting evidence.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent proofreading and quality-control skills.
  • Ability to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and unanswered questions rather than simply documenting information provided.
  • Comfortable working directly with SMEs, consultants, and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with short timelines and multiple concurrent deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently after receiving initial direction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Consulting or professional services experience.
  • Experience supporting enterprise transformation, technology, process improvement, or organizational initiatives.
  • Experience developing assessments, scorecards, executive presentations, process documentation, or similar consulting deliverables.
  • Experience with evidence traceability, current-state/future-state analysis, gap analysis, or requirements analysis.
  • Experience working in engagements with multiple stakeholders and interconnected workstreams.
  • Healthcare or payer experience is beneficial but not required.
  • Organizational Change Management experience is beneficial but not required.

What We Are Looking For

This individual needs to be both an analyst and a strong content producer.

We are looking for someone who can receive a collection of stakeholder notes, interview findings, existing artifacts, field feedback, and team direction and determine:

  • What is the information telling us? What evidence supports it? What is missing? How does it map to the agreed framework or milestone? And how do we turn it into a clear, polished deliverable?
